Dialog is text shown when players speak to NPCs or vice versa. These can be activated by standing near the NPC and interacting with the speech bubble shown above their head. Depending on what device the player is playing on, this may be done by clicking on it, pressing the E key on a keyboard, tapping it, or pressing the X button on a controller. Other times, the dialog is triggered by an action, such as going up to a house with a customer’s order.

Not all dialog gives you an option to select different responses, but if it does, they can affect the outcome of the NPC's response.

NPCs with Dialog

Main NPCs

• Customers use dialog for ordering at the cashier's booth, and then again to thank the player for delivering their order(s). If the player has "old customer dialog" set to off (located within the settings), the customer will show a picture of the item on the menu that they want. If the player has it set to on, they will simply name it instead.
• Mr. Builder (his Work at a Pizza Place counterpart) uses dialog to ask if the player would like to buy coins or sell items.
• Daisy uses dialog to ask multiple pet related things to the player (hence her working at the Pet Shop).

Former NPCs

• The Dump Clerks used dialog to sell the player items for Coins and change their house color.

Halloween Exclusive NPCs

• Mulberry uses dialog to sell the player Halloween exclusive items for candy.
• ScurvyBeard uses dialog to tell the player about him losing his crew.

In Mansion Story

• Elliot, Mia, and Mr. Builder (his Mansion Story counterpart) all use dialog to talk to the players.
• Though not an NPC, the player also uses dialog. In Mansion Story, though, the game chooses who talks and what they say, so the player themselves cannot choose what to say to any NPCs.

Trivia

• Certain dialogs may have reference to some popular media. Such example is:
  • One of the incorrect customer's response "I'm ugly and I'm proud!" is obviously from a Spongebob Squarepants episode "Something Smells", in which Patrick tells SpongeBob that in order to feel better about himself, he needs to scream that he is ugly, and that he shouldn't be ashamed of it. Spongebob then says "I'm ugly and I'm proud!" repeatedly. This also becomes an internet meme.
  • Another example is Burger Bell, which is a humorous combination of Burger King and Taco Bell, as mentioned in several of incorrect advanced mode cashier lines.
  • One of incorrect advanced mode cashier response 'I'm Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color?' is a reference to 2003 film, Elf.
  • Sweater made of Eyelashes is a reference to the Spongebob Squarepants episode 'Dying for Pie'.
  • Another incorrect customer's response "You just made an enemy for life!" is a reference to The Simpsons' Groundskeeper Willie's episode.
  • Taco Hut is another humorous reference of Pizza Hut and Taco Bell combined together.
  • The dialog "You’re cruisin’ for a bruisin’." is a reference of a song made by Ol' 55 Band and presumably from others here.
• There used to be an incorrect dialog that said "We now serve baby bites, now with real baby!". It was removed for unknown reasons, possibly being inappropriate. However, you can still say it in Pizza Place Mobile.
• Prior to an unknown date, it was possible for customers to say "Toss a Mountain Dew in the oven" when ordering. This is no longer possible, as the dialog for costumers has been improved so that certain ordering dialog will mention a certain pizza and never soda, and vice versa. This was likely done due to some customer dialog not making sense.
• Incorrect delivery dialog has been re-added on November 22, 2021.
